In 2012, Earth Charter Communities Network, L3C (ECCN) became an American social enterprise. We have been helping people use dialogue and use the basic principle of the Earth Charter: Respect and Care for the Community of Life to build community and develop lifelong sustainable lifestyles now for ten years. We decided to become a social enterprise in order to create a bridge between the U.S. and China around nature education. We have developed these dialogue and community building skills at different education institutions in China. Now our next step is to help Americans develop better dialogue skills and community building skills too. We hope that the public discourse between Americans and Chinese around climate change and sustainable development goals will awaken and evolve a new kind of global community based on sustainability institutions that can both develop with changing circumstances but also learn from history as well.
ECCN has offices in Washington, DC and Clinton, Michigan.
